on airtel now..

We've chucked out hathaway cable.. and signed up for airtel's dsl connection which came with a free phone! I like the ease and efficiency of processing. I just enquired over phone, and within 5 hours, rep was there at home. Took down info.. and for a grand total of 666/- (I know! I know!) within another 36 hours, we were connected (would have been sooner if someone had been home).
The only goof was that he didn't assign the phone number asked for (inspite of confirming its availability).. so we're waiting for that.
I've taken the 699/- plan - 128 kbps, unlimited on downloads.

Be careful/wary of their billing.
A few people in our apartment complex as well as 1 colleague have had major issues with them as their bills ran upto a few thousands (despite them having unlimited bandwidth .. i have no idea why .. neither do they).

but this billing can't vary right? Unless I make phone calls.. (which I plan to lock as just for incoming). As per scheme it should be a standard 700 a month
I had that 1000s problem with hathaway..

I got upgraded too. I noticed the increase in speed and thought it was a mess-up on their end, so I kept quiet. Then I got a courier leaflet saying I had been upgraded. Took about 2 weeks after it happened. Rs. 1000 for 256 Kbps is not bad.
